Use of Chlorhexidine to Eradicate Oropharyngeal SARSCoV-2 in COVID-19 Patients

Objective: As public distribution of a vaccine against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is in underway, prevention disease 2019 (COVID-19) relies on minimizing spread. In this study, chlorhexidine gluconate was investigated as topical antimicrobial agent SARS-CoV-2. Methods: This randomized, prospective cohort study using an oral rinse and posterior oropharyngeal spray hospitalized COVID-19 patients. The primary outcome presence or absence laboratory-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 the cavities after four days use standard care (study group) only (control group).
